FORECLOSURES are different from HUD homes (government owned)  in that they are banked owned and are listed in the MLS just as other homes are.  As they do not need to be listed as foreclosures they may often be identified by such terms as “sold as is”, short sell, call ahead for bank addendums, etc.
 
By clicking on Foreclosures you will get a list of various and sundry houses which contain terms which may indicate that they are foreclosures.   This is a great way to find many foreclosures although it is much like shopping at Filenes basement.
